Hello, Angels!

Steve is currently deployed and settling into the quarters he'll be occupying for 12 months. I'm wearing the yellow ribbon pin he bought me to wear during his last deployment, right over my heart. Kappa Delta Phi's Mu Gamma Chapter successfully launched the first "Operation Popcorn" in Tucson, Arizona. The public was invited to come to Copper Kettle Popcorn & Confections and buy a small bag of gourmet popcorn for the troops. Thank you notes were provided for people to attach to each bag with their own personal message, and the result was three large boxes full of bags of popcorn were shipped to soldiers in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq. I hear they didn't last long, so another effort is in the planning stages to be held sometime this Spring. Thank you to everyone who participated, send donations for popcorn and shipping costs, and a very special thanks to my Mu Gamma Sisters for their hard work at the shop making sure the bags were distributed equally and carefully packaged so they'd be in tip top shape when they reached their destination.

I would like to thank the "Angels" most sincerely for everything that you have done in support of our troops since the war in Iraq began. The letters, packages, emails, and most of all ... prayers ... have made a huge difference and will continue to do so. And it is always a pleasure working with you all!
